What is the Official Fleshlight Powder Renewer, and is it worth buying?

Fleshlight Powder

Fleshlight Powder Do you remember when you first opened your new Fleshlight?

Aside from the overwhelming feeling of excitement at what was about to come (no pun intended), you may recall that the flesh had a unique smell, and a distinct, soft Fleshlight powder feel. Almost as though it has been rolled in talc.

Sadly, it doesn’t take long for that powdery feel to disappear, leaving the skin of your Fleshlight with a slightly tacky feel.

Now, this may not bother you at all.  And if it doesn’t, that’s fine.

It doesn’t appear to have any immediate detrimental effect. But over time, you may find that the dreaded black spot begins to creep across your favourite toy.

Therefore, if you wish to keep your growing Fleshlight collection in ‘good-as-new’ condition then you will certainly be interested in the official Fleshlight powder.

Top Tip: See the Fleshlight Powder Renewer in action, courtesy of the handy product preview video at Lovehoney.

(If you do watch that preview video, don’t pull your Fleshlight back in to the container like Annabelle does, as overtime it can cause tears to appear in the skin. It’s better to simply run your finger around the base rim, and push down from the top.)

This stuff is the exact same powder that coats your brand-new Fleshlight just before it leaves the factory for your bedroom.

Rather than having me drone on and on about why this may be of interest to you, I have written a list of pros and cons for you to peruse at your leisure. Handy, eh?

So, tell me, what are the Advantages to using the Fleshlight Powder?

  • It gives your Fleshlight that good-as-new feeling
  • Absorbing the moisture from your Fleshlight immediately after you have used and washed it, helps keep away those nasty black spots
  • It is the official product designed for this exact purpose
  • You will get a good 8 to 10 applications per tub
  • It’s recently dropped in price from near £20 to just over a fiver

Ok, that’s great, but what about the Disadvantages to using the Fleshlight powder?

  • It can be expensive to keep buying their official powder
  • Some Fleshlight users say you can get the very same result from using supermarket-bought cornstarch

lovehoney-lifelike-sex-toy-renewer-powderAt £20 for a tub, I realise this was a hard sell. My own opinion was, at that price, it’s almost too expensive to bother, and I might as well simply get my use out my current insert and then replace it.

I said to myself:

“Fleshlight’s last long enough to get a good amount of use out of them before they start to tear, discolour, or become all smelly. Yes, the powder will give you additional longevity, but are Fleshlight’s really that expensive to replace?”

But then they dropped the price down to £5.99. And suddenly I didn’t feel like I was being fleeced. I then saw the Fleshlight Powder as a useful product at a sensible price.

It’s certainly hygienic to replace your insert every so often. Not to mention how the quality and detail of the new inserts are always improving.

But unless you have money to burn, let’s face it, £5.99 is much friendlier on the wallet than 60 quid plus.

Incidentally, the Fleshlight powder works nicely with all Cyberskin / Fanta-flesh sex toys, so you do get extended use if you own any other similar toys.

Remember, you don’t even need to replace your Fleshlight’s insert with another from Fleshlight themselves. Have you seen how good the Race Utensil range is?

Ultimately though…

Is the Fleshlight powder worth it, and do you need it?

fleshlight-sex-toy-care-kit-at-lovehoneyThe answer to both those questions depends entirely on your view point of spending £40-£70 to buy a new Fleshlight every so often, versus spending £5.99 to get that good-as-new feeling every time.

If you are using your Fleshlight every single day then honestly, applying the Fleshlight powder after every session is going to get tedious quickly.

If, however, you use your Fleshlight less frequently – maybe as a special treat – and you want to really enjoy your toy each and every time you use it, then the power can really help keep your toy in tip top shape for longer. There’s no harm in treating yourself. After all, why else would you have bought your Fleshlight in the first place?

And how many uses will I get out of it?

It really depends on how much you use per time.

As a guide line, I have used my powder 16 times so far, but I think number 17 will be my last.

I apply the power maybe every other time I use it.

Other reviews say anything between 8 and 10 times.

How To Use Your Fleshlight Powder Renewer

There’s likely a few ways to use the powder. I’m not sure of the ‘official’ way, but here’s my method:

  1. Remove Fleshlight sleeve from case.
  2. Generously distribute enough powder onto your Fleshlight sleeve until it is completely coated with a thin layer.
  3. Replace the Fleshlight sleeve in the Fleshlight case, and enjoy as usual.

Pretty basic. Put a towel down, or do this in the bath / shower (not whilst it’s on!), so you can easily wash away any powder than inevitably ends up on the floor.

Don’t go crazy with too much powder, and be aware that if you put too much powder inside then immediately go at it, the lube will combine with the powder to form a nasty gunk. Instead, use the powder at the end of a session, so to avoid such a scenario.

Top Tip: When you have used all the powder in your Fleshlight Powder Renewer tub, you can simply top up using Supermarket-bought cornstarch.

The official tub has a handy sprinkler system built into the top that is worth re-using – after all, it was designed specifically for this purpose.
