Is Artificial Intelligence (A.I.) The Future Of Men’s Sex Toys?

Remember the first time you watched Terminator and you were introduced to Skynet, and you thought to yourself, hell, I wish I could invent a robot just like that. For sex reasons.

No?

Yeah, me neither.

But the Artificial Intelligence (A.I) of 2023 is not quite like that which became self-aware at 2:14 a.m., EDT, on August 29, 1997. Which is probably for the best, given how mean and unfriendly Terminators seem to be towards good time seeking human folk such as ourselves.

That said, AI is advancing. Rapidly. Like, really, really rapidly. So fast that I reckon by the end of 2023 we are going to have seen a major shift in the search engine wars, as Microsoft are already hedging $10 billion smackaroos on how AI is going to change Bing. You remember Bing, right? It’s the alternative to Google that no one ever uses. Well, maybe that’s all going to change.

Anyway, I digress.

What I’m really curious about is how Artificial Intelligence might change the sex toy market in the short to medium term future. That is this year, and maybe out to 2025.

How Might Artificial Intelligence Be Added To Men’s Sex Toys In The Future?

There are several ways that I can foresee that AI could be integrated into men’s sex toys in the future.

One possibility is using AI to create personalised vibration patterns and intensity levels based on the toy user’s preferences.

Another possibility is using AI to create a more realistic virtual reality experience for users.

Or what about AI-powered sex toys that could potentially use machine learning algorithms to adapt to a user’s individual physiology and respond accordingly?

Seems pretty wild, at first glance. But stick with me because back in 1994 the BBC’s Tomorrow’s World reported on this new fangled thing called “The Internet”, and not three years later I was already saturating my 56k modem with pay per minute, bitty, grainy, but nevertheless very enjoyable pornography. The revolution had begun.

And I don’t need to tell you that things have come a long way since then.

But I genuinely think we are on that cusp of a similar revolution right now with AI, and there will be few industries left untouched. If the internet is anything to go by, then Sex (and anything sex related by association) will be pioneering the push forwards.

Truly Personalised Men’s Sex Toys

One possibility for using AI in sex toys is to create personalised vibration patterns and intensity levels based on the toy user’s preferences. This could be done through the use of machine learning algorithms that learn your preferences over time and adjusts your toy’s settings accordingly.

Machine learning is a type of computer technology that allows software to learn from data, without being explicitly programmed. It involves using algorithms to analyse and understand patterns in data, and then make predictions or decisions based on that data. This can include tasks such as recognising patterns in images, understanding speech, or making predictions about future events. It is a way for computers to automatically improve their performance by learning from experience.

What is machine learning?

For example, a sex toy with AI capabilities could track a user’s preferred vibration patterns and intensity levels and automatically adjust to those settings in the future. This could be done by using data from sensors built in to the toy to track how your toy is being used and what settings are most pleasurable for the user.

Another example of using AI for personalised vibration patterns and intensity levels is by using natural language processing (NLP) to understand a persons spoken / verbal instructions. The toy would be able to understand phrases like “stronger”, “softer”, “faster” and adjust accordingly.

A third example of using AI for personalised vibrations is by using a mobile application that communicates with the toy via WiFi or Bluetooth. The app would be able to collect data on your preferences and send them to the toy, which would then adjust its vibration patterns and intensity levels accordingly.

These are just a handful of examples that I can think of that show how AI might be used to create a more personalised and enjoyable experience for users of sex toys, by learning their preferences and automatically adjusting to provide the most pleasure.

Virtual Reality Sex

Side step to the left. And another one. You’re dead, game over.

Ahh my childhood memories of watching Knightmare after school. Man, I would have loved to have had a go on that. I was a nerd back then and I’m still a nerd now.

Anyway, fast forwards to 2023 and, if you’re lucky, you may have had a go by now on something like Meta Quest (previously Facebook’s Oculus), or Playstation VR. There’s a bunch of super cool games out there, some of which are super immersive. If you’ve played the “walk the plank” game, where you are on a sky scraper and you have to walk out on a little plank, then jump off, you will know what I mean.

Now, take that immersion, and transport it into your computer room, and imagine all you can see is a naked woman, being lewd with herself.

It’s early days on this yet. But if you combine a quiet house with total visual immersion, your favourite pornstar(s) and a good sex toy then believe me, this one can be quite the experience.

In the near term future I foresee a possibility for using AI in sex toys is to create a more realistic virtual reality experience. By using boffin tier AI algorithms, I reckon soon we will have the ability to generate realistic and highly lifelike virtual partners that can act out whatever filth we can imagine. If this could be combined with Ready Player One style haptic feedback suits to simulate the physical sensations then I believe that many of us would never want to leave.

Or how about using AI to create a more realistic virtual reality experience by using computer vision and natural language processing (NLP) to create virtual partners that can understand and respond to the our movements and spoken commands?

For example, a virtual partner powered by AI could feasibly respond to your touch or movements in a more realistic way. Or understand and respond to verbal cues such as “faster” or “softer”, and “oh you dirty bitch, more!”

I think in the short term though, the most realistic expectation is in combining more technologically advanced sex toys with VR. If the experience can be joined up, so what you see on your VR headset is magically translated to some kind of AI powered sex toy, then I think that would sell like hot cakes.

Ready Player Three-some

A third example of using AI in sex toys is by using generative models such as GANs to create more realistic virtual avatars that can interact with you in a more realistic and lifelike way.

A GAN, or Generative Adversarial Network, is a type of machine learning model that is used to generate new data. It does this by training two neural networks together: a generator network and a discriminator network. The generator network creates new data, while the discriminator network tries to determine whether the data is real or fake. As the two networks compete with each other, they both improve, with the generator becoming better at creating realistic data and the discriminator becoming better at identifying fake data. GANs can be used to generate realistic images, videos, and audio, and they have been used in a variety of applications such as creating realistic 3D models, video games and creating realistic images for medical research.

What is a (Generative Adversarial Network) GAN?

To me, this feels the furthest away in to the future from right now. These virtual pornstars could be more expressive and able to understand and respond to the your facial emotions, words, and actions, making the virtual reality experience vastly more realistic and pleasurable.

I reckon it’s a matter of when, not if. But equally I think when will be years off.

These are just a few of my filthy fantasies about where AI might take us in the wider world of virtual reality sex toy integration.

Part of me is worried about how men might become lost in these simulations. As ever there are pros and cons, but there’s a darkness here that can’t be understated. What do you think? Leave an anonymous comment below and share your opinion.

Submit To Machine Learning

Perhaps the technology that has the most likelihood of being integrated into sex toys in the shortest time frame is machine learning, or ‘smart’ toys.

Think about it. Smart shit is everywhere. Each year at CES, more and more every day devices are upgraded to be smart.

Smart TVs, smart fridges, smart vacuums.

Smart bastards.

Some sex toy companies are already setting out as pioneers in the smart revolution.

There are a few ideas here that could (read: will) be explored.

One way is that your toys could “watch and learn” how you interact with them, then adapt and adjust accordingly. This could be done by using sensors buried inside the toy to track a your physiological responses and then use that data to adjust the toy’s settings in real-time.

For example, if the toy finds your arousal level increases, then it could automatically adjust to provide stronger and faster vibrations. Similarly, if your arousal level drops, the toy could automatically adjust to provide softer and slower vibrations. Like a kind and caring, and never complaining partner.

Another way, and perhaps a little more creepy, is to do something similar but blend in everyone’s data.

By this I mean the toy will track and monitor your experiences, shall we say, and then upload these data points to the cloud.

The “cloud” refers to a network of remote servers that are connected to the internet and can be accessed by users to store, manage and process data. Instead of storing data on your computer’s hard drive, you can store it on a remote server in the cloud, and access it from anywhere with an internet connection. This allows for easy collaboration and sharing of data, as well as the ability to access your data from any device. Companies like Amazon, Microsoft, and Google offer cloud storage and computing services to businesses and individuals.

What is The Cloud?

You know, the cloud? That mystical term which seems to pop up whenever technology is talked about. Basically it means that your sex toy usage is recorded, saved, and shipped off to Amazon, Microsoft, and Google for safe keeping.

If we can’t trust our most intimate experiences with faceless multinationals, then who can we trust?

All of these data points could then be collated, analysed, anonymised (you would hope), and then used as the downloaded defaults for new user’s of a given toy.

Using AI To Create Custom Men’s Sex Toys

Customised sex toys are already a thing. Just check Etsy.

But, as far as I am aware, most of these custom designs are bespoke, or limited runs.

Technology though, it moves ever faster. Is it possible that in the medium term future that AI-powered sex toys could be created with 3D printing technology to create customised designs based on your preferences and anatomy?

By using AI-powered design tools, the toy could be tailored to the user’s body shape and size, providing a more comfortable and enjoyable experience. I’m not entirely sure how this might work, but I could imagine it involves using your phone to scan your genitals and then the poor under payed, over worked genie inside your handset does magical things to figure out what would work best for you.

Are A.I. Sex Robots Already A Real Thing?

Yes, AI-powered sex robots are already a real thing and have been developed by several companies. These robots are typically designed to look and feel like human beings and are equipped with various features such as speech recognition, natural language processing, and machine learning capabilities. They can be programmed to respond to certain actions or commands, such as a touch on their arm or a specific word, and can be programmed to simulate a range of human-like responses such as sexual responses, conversation, and facial expressions.

However, the development and availability of AI sex robots are still in its nascent stage. They are still expensive and have limited capabilities. The technology is evolving and it’s expected that in the future, the robots will become more advanced and more affordable.

It’s also important to note that the use of AI-powered sex robots raises a number of ethical concerns, such as issues around consent and the objectification of women. These concerns are still being debated and it’s important to understand the implications of these technology before considering purchasing one.

Your Own Prototype Robo Lover

There are several companies that are involved in the development of AI-powered sex robots. Some of the most prominent companies include:

  1. RealDoll: RealDoll is a California-based company that has been creating high-end, realistic sex dolls for over 20 years. They have recently started incorporating AI technology into their dolls to create more lifelike and interactive experiences. They have a range of models available for purchase.
  2. Synthea Amatus: Synthea Amatus is a company based in Hong Kong that focuses on creating female robots with AI technology. They have developed a prototype of a robot called Samantha which is capable of responding to touch and voice commands.
  3. Abyss Creations: Abyss Creations is a California-based company that has been creating high-end sex dolls for over 20 years. They have recently developed a robot head that can be used with their existing dolls to create a more lifelike and interactive experience.
  4. Kirobo: Kirobo is a Japanese company that has developed a robot called “Fuzu” that can be used as a sex companion. It is capable of responding to touch and has the ability to learn and adapt to a user’s preferences.
  5. LumiDolls: LumiDolls is a Spanish company that creates lifelike sex dolls with AI capabilities. They offer a range of models which are capable of responding to different touch and voice commands.

These are just a few examples of companies that are currently involved in the development of AI-powered sex robots. However, it goes without saying that this technology is still in its early stages and the availability of such robots for purchase is limited, and very expensive.

My Pros & Cons Of A.I. Sex Toys

After all that then, it’s time to sum up. Here are some of my potential pros and cons of using AI in men’s sex toys:

Pros:

  1. Personalisation: AI-powered sex toys could potentially use 🤖 machine learning algorithms 🤖 to learn about your preferences over time and adjust the toy’s settings accordingly, providing a more unique and enjoyable experience.
  2. Realism: AI-powered sex toys could potentially use virtual reality technology to create a more immersive and realistic experience for us dirty pervs.
  3. Adaptability: AI-powered sex toys could potentially use machine learning algorithms to adapt to your bodies individual physiology and respond accordingly, 🦾 learning what you want and how you like it 🦾
  4. Remote control: AI-powered sex toys could allow for remote control, enabling you or your partner to control your toy remotely via a mobile app or website. This could add new possibilities for 👩‍❤️‍💋‍👨 long-distance relationships or group interactions 👩‍❤️‍💋‍👨

Cons:

  1. Privacy concerns: Collecting and storing data in the cloud could raise 🕵️ privacy concerns 🕵️ for users, such as the security of personal information and the potential for data breaches.
  2. Cost: AI-powered sex toys may be more expensive than traditional toys, which could be a barrier for some users.
  3. Complexity: AI-powered sex toys may be 🧐 more complex 🧐 to use than traditional toys, which could be a barrier for some users.
  4. Ethical concerns: The use of AI-powered sex robots raises a number of ethical concerns, such as issues around consent and the objectification of women.

I think most worrying for me is that most men’s sex toys, or heck, sex toys in general, are not manufactured here in the UK. And that means we are completely at the mercy of unusual and unexpected rules about how our data might be collected, stored, and used.

Is A.I. The Future Of Sex Toys?

I’m going to go out on a limb here and say: yes.

The future is coming, and it will be coming to sex toys you will want to own very soon. It’s inevitable.

Sure, that means there will always be a market for dumb toys. A basic dildo. A plain old fashioned Fleshlight. But more and more of the sex toys we will own are going to be smart in some way. Who doesn’t want to connect their stroker to the home WiFi?

I reckon that AI will come to women and couple’s sex toys first. Men’s toys will follow later, as per.

However I suspect men’s toys will lead the way in the VR market. We’re just kinkier and ruder like that. Also, if anyone is going to be caught wanking wearing a headset, it’s the man of the house, not the good lady wife.

Whilst I think a Ready Player One-esque haptic body suit will come with time, that feels a long way off.

The concern for all of these advances is data collection. Will we feel comfortable having our most personal and private experiences captured, collated, and converted into cloud data? I’m sceptical, but I think enough people will make the trade off between privacy and pleasure that this will inevitably push forwards.

So whilst I think AI will become common place in men’s sex toys during this decade, I don’t think we need to call for John Connor just yet.
